Exactly 30 anniversary since the original Toy Story film was released, establishing the animation giant as a major film company and introducing audiences to beloved figures like the cowboy doll (the actor) and Buzz Lightyear (the voice talent), who are now famous worldwide.

Coming in 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 landed recently, providing a glimpse into the storyline but leaving fans wondering how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

Bonnie's New Toy: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Toys

The preview reveals Bonnie — who inherited the toy collection when he left for college — receiving a latest toy, one that terrifies Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She gets her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.

Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the characters seem to view it as a threat coming to replace them, which it probably is.

Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4

One thing the teaser doesn't touch on is why the sheriff is returned with his companions in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), traveling with a carnival and assisting giveaway items find good homes.

Certainly, Pixar will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Witnessing him appear in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have returned with him. And what about Duke Caboom (the star)?

Continuity from the Previous Film

At the very least, some aspects are carrying over from the prior film. The last thing Woody did before setting off for his fresh path was pass his symbol of authority to the cowgirl (the voice actor), entrusting her as the leader of the toy domain. The clip displays the insignia pinned to her shirt.

Hopefully she is still the driving force among the group.
